Latvia is a small country located in in between Lithuania and Estonia, his two "big brothers". Countries nearby include Soviet Russia, Belarus , and Poland, and because of Latvia's location, it has always been invaded by other, more larger countries. As for Latvia himself, this means that he has, for most of his life, been under the authority of other nations and has often been treated like a pet. Latvia was forced to accept a mutual assistance ally with Soviet Russia, which put Latvia under the control of Russia. Once that happened, Latvia was sent to live with Russia.
Raivis has a tolerant personality, but is extremely timid and a bit of a shut-in. He is frightened very, very easily, and tends to give off the impression of a trauma victim. He is a bit of a sap as well: he loves poetry and romance novels. He is terrified to death of Ivan, and is always trembling when he and Ivan are in the same room. Raivis often says and does things that Ivan has deemed prohibited, which Ivan happily takes as an excuse to smack him around everywhere. Raivis is usually obedient and does what he is told out of fear, but despite this, he has been known to occasionally stand up for himself-- even if it is extremely uncommon for him.
A novel in Russian... It's a romance story, but.. *frowns, sighing* Ugh, I haven't been able to find a decent love story lately.. One that doesn't end in tragedy... You'd think people would want their knight in shining armor to live with forever- grow old with.. But everyone apparently wants to die before then... *closes the book and tosses it aside*
I didn't know you were into love stories? I have yet to actually find a story like that, except those little American fairie tales about Cinderella and Snow White...
But maybe you're just looking in the wrong places for these stories? I mean, Russia probably is not the best place to look for romance novels.
Oh, I adore them. Of all the books I like to read, romance novels are my favorite indeed. Poetry as well. *Smiles* I don't care for American fairy-tales so much, though I might give them credit for trying to catch the eye of many audiences, from hispanic to african-american... I just wish there was more for speeches, and important lines that were probably cut from the script because it was too much to say for a short film..
A lot of my country's literature is in Russian too, so there is not much difference.. I would look in France, but those types of romance novels involve more than I would want to read.. *blushes slightly*
; n ; Don't be sad, dear Latvia~. I'll still be here for you, and care for you. I need someone to look after since brother left. Besides, everything should be back in order soon, tak?
*Smiles a little weakly* Thank you, miss Ukraine. I hope so..
Oh, before I forget.. *pulls out a set of keys and hands them to you* I don't know what to do with these- I was.. Honestly, going to trash his house while he was gone, but.. He gave up the keys too easily, and now I don't feel like it... :I
.. I have the potential of hurting them, I suppose.. Though I would not think of it, as I haven't much to do with faeries. *Smiles at you calmly* What sort of a faerie are you?
I'm unsure... *looks you over curiously* I've heard tales of them in Russia that aren't the prettiest... House elves, sort of, that take care of unfinished chores or those that are not done well. They are.. Nocturnal.. *Stares at you a little* Is that what you are? Or am I mistaken?
Hm.. Perhaps someone caused trouble for you? Like undoing things after you did them... *remains silent for a moment* Someone have a grudge on you or something? I could beat them up for you, if you like. *grins a little, chuckling*
